Like everyone else, Hallmark Christmas Movies are on a constant loop on our TV even when we are not actively watching TV. I know they are kitschy and predictable and their aggressive movie scores often compete with the actors for our attention as if say "listen to me...I'm a cello and I can make this tear jerker scene with Candace Cameron more powerful if you just focus on me". But I can't quit them. They are like a TV version of an IV drip slowly numbing us from the pain of a world that is seemingly spinning off of its axis.
There are times though when I'm reminded by Turner Classic Movies that there are so many truly great Christmas classics that don't even get a fraction of the attention that the Hallmark movies get. There are the obvious ones like "It's A Wonderful Life" and "White Christmas" but there are so many others like "All That Heaven Allows" and "Christmas In Connecticut" that deserve our attention.
So I put this music video together for a song I wrote called "It's Christmas Time" from our "Hereafter Musical" movie...a future Christmas movie classic! Frankie Keane (who stars in the movie with Danny Aiello) sings the song accompanied by clips from forty two Christmas classics which you all should watch!
